Helping you overcome your PCOS symptoms through diet and lifestyle changes
Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a complex endocrine disorder that affects 5–10% of women of reproductive age. Many women with PCOS present with ovaries that contain numerous cystic follicles, which are associated with chronic anovulation and overproduction of androgens (male hormones). Additionally, PCOS can be associated with heart disease, hypertension, or diabetes.
Symptoms of PCOS may also include:
Irregular menstrual periods
Obesity
Excessive growth of central body hair (hirsutism)
Infertility
Although PCOS is NOT diagnosed through ultrasound, in order to be properly diagnosed you must meet at least two of these three symptoms:
Higher than normal levels of male hormones that may result in excess hair on the face and body, acne, or thinning scalp hair
Irregular periods or no periods
Small cysts on the ovaries
There is no cure for PCOS. However, symptoms can be addressed and overcome individually. Based on your symptoms, together we can come up with a long-term plan that will help you live your best life symptom- free!
